I guess this is hello. I'm sitting here, late night, it's now 1:30 and I'm trying to get this thrilling new toy website up and running. While you're waiting for things to flesh themselves out here, there's always Dave Winer's Scripting News, which I modeled some of my design around. It's a great source for tech news, and Dave always has something insightful to say about where we are all heading.
There's also the new Screening Room, which I developed for tvguide.com which lets you watch trailers for movies that are new in theaters. Trying to get Media Player to embed in the browser, and to link .ASF clips together was the bane of my existence. The first route I decided to go was HTML+TIME, but because there was no support on anything lower than a 5.0 browser, I ended up going with ASX Meta files. Too bad Mediaplayer doesn't support SMIL 2.0.
One other buzz site that I seem to be hearing enough about is Audio Galaxy, but I haven't quite had the time to investigate fully. Supposedly it's like Napster, except without the copyright hassles. Maybe you can check it out and let me know what you think. Well, that's all for now sports fans! Long live tonomo.com.
